Looking miffed, perhaps. But, in truth, not really. The dog was there first. I am actually thinking how nice it is to be surrounded by entities that love me, care about me, and want to make my life’s journey the best they can. They are doing a fine job of it.

And that’s the best part! Piper suffers from bitchy resting face (finally a moment when that phrase is 100% accurate). She can be thrilled to pieces and her face will still look like way! She’s probably sitting there wondering who her next cuddles will come from. – Aja

K-Line sometimes I think about all the roles we play in our life. Child, sibling, parent, friend. My parents as grandparents are at their best EVER. Hands down. – Aja

  2. I LOVE that you say this. I haven’t had that much of a chance to see my parents as grandparents because we live far from each other and, often, when my kid is with my parents and cousins, I’m not there. It’s my break opportunity. This Xmas we’re going to Mtl for 5 days so it will be a chance to see the grandparent-role in force. Def my parents are WAY nicer to the grandkids.

K-Line, my Dad rolls his eyes when I say this but he wasn’t nearly as child friendly when I was Avery’s age as he is now. He had way less patience when I was little 😀 – Aja

A parent’s job is not necessarily one anchored in friendship. Grandparents, on the other hand, if lucky can ride the friendship train till the cows come home.
